you won't need much at all, just buy a pint on base and a quart of clear. Look into the mixing ratio's like 2:1 or 4:1 you'll end up with more than you need. Spray 2-3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear then hit with 1500 girt than lay down 2 more coats of clear. Its look awesome after ur color sand it. This by far is one of the best ways to get the finest shine for ur paint but very time consuming. What color are u using? some colors u'll need more depending on the color of the surface to prevent bleed through. also u can lay a white base to add contrast to bright colors. You should wait till water borne paint comes out dude, this stuff is the shit. Easiest stuff to spray and best all around paint/clear. it will revolutionize automotive paint but hella expensive. i'm thinking of waiting for it to come down to use it on my car. I would go into a paint store and order from there. they can match everything and give u a better deal so u don't screw up reducers/activators and mix and match wrong products.

i had a quart of base and reducer. (2qt all together) it should be more than enough even for a beginner if you plan on doing it yourself
