Today when i was going home on the freeway around 11p.m. this Integria pull up next to me and i was like oh it won't be a big deal, but then he down shift (it didn't have that annyoing exhaust sound it was aggressive) and pulled ahead (then i realize it was an Type R) of me for a split sec. Then i down shift as well. I pulled in front of him for a split sec. For a good 5-10 seconds his nose was right on next to my front wheels. We were dead even till i hit an limiter i dunno if it was my speed or tach, but i burry the needle in 4th gear then he blew by me. He had some gauge pods and exhaust thats all i could see.
my mods is in my message

Some punctuation marks would make reading this a lot easier...

usually most honda owners of their precious type r keep the engine stock and just go i/h/e (this is from MY experience, i'm in no way saying that all type r owners do this, just a majority of them ).
i don't know too much about type r's other than they shouldn't be too much of a problem for you (especially with your mod list). They are after all, a track car...not so much a drag car. i'm not saying they can't be fast, but the track was the main intent of the type r. too bad you couldn't chat with the driver. i'm interested to hear what he had... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() |

I wonder?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>..do they make a turbo kit for the B18C5 type engines?...or he coulda been "spraying" like sieker said i wish you coulda talked to the guy he would have been happy as hell to know he beat a sr20'd 240

hehe, A stock TYPE R is about the same qtr mile time as a stock silvia with sr20det? yur mods aren't enough to pull because he probably had some mods too. Remember he has More top end than u do. If you ran off the line, you would of pulled ahead in front of him, and then he would of started catching up. Stock sr20det turbocharger's = small; uprgrade it and you'll be surprised at how much harder it will pull with a properly matched turbo. It'd be be F___KIN tight. trust me. i dunno, i have KA-turbo, t3/to4B 60 trim stage III .63 ar and it runs hella good at 7 psi. i have traction problem. it spins tires like nuts. aight man, hope u find that type R and Lay it down on him Next time.

There is a type R near me (at Virginia Tech) that has a supercharger. The car is nasty. So they atleast make some type of forced induction for the teg. Don't know if that was what you were messing with though.

do not underestimate type r's. the are highway warriors. they do make a turbo kit for the type r, ihave personnaly seen 3 and met their owners in No.VA. 2 of em had DRAG kits and the other one, i forgot. with the turbo they can smoke a stock supra. he was probably spraying or just wasn't pushing hard and then nailed it. my friend beat a type r with i/h/e in his 95 hatch with a b18c1 (skunk2 im, cai, exhaust, and turbo waiting to be put it) on the highway.

This one time at band camp......I got walked by a retarded kid on a raskal scooter.
You got walked because you got walked. A sr20det at 7psi makes about the same HP as a type r (assuming that it is a s13 sr). If the type r was modified then he probably had a few ponys on you. |

He had an 5zigen fireball exhaust thats all i can see his exhaust was loud and aggressive so do you know how an stock Type R exhaust would sound like cuz that could mean that he had sometime im not sure

they have a high top end, and high redline [8400 i think]
i doubt that Type R is stock, there is no way in this world i would keep a type R stock. from all the type r's ive seen, they were not stock at all. dont under estimate a type r. |

The type r does not have 220hp. Maybe in Japan but not here. As far as I know the stock type r has 195bhp. I know this because if anyone had heard of Realtime Acura they race Integra Type R's in the Speedvision World Challenge series and are based in my hometown of Saukville, WI. Anyway I talk to Peter Cunningham and Duane Wickham, the owner and head mechanic respectively) and they tune the Type R's up to 212whp. Thats with an Intake, Exhaust, and custom headers. Im sure they use some sort of engine management system too. They told me type R's have a huge advantage in handling, so the governing body only lets them tune it up that much. I can get you more info if anyone wants it. On a side note some dude always asks me to race his golf VR6 with basic mods on it. I have a 95 intergra GSR. Would I stand a chance? Also my summer daily driver is a 240sx so nobody flames me <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

most of the honda owners do not know shit about the VAFC at all, only a few do, its not some toy where u plug up to have a nice blue *bling*bling* effect. and the point of turning down VTEC? dont really know y. its a toy that should be tuned on a dyno not at home i could find a post about it if somebody wanted it |

honda cars modded right are fast, i don't think anyone argues that. there will always be a little civic out there that can whooop on you no mater what you drive. i got a 240SX for the handling and the sleeker body lines w.o help from a body kit. as far as straight line drag racing is concerned i think 240's have an enormous disadvantage. no1 drag races a S13 or S14 body type.. but integras and CRXs and Civics are in the 8's 9's and lets not forget that the ITR is a race track bred car it comes stock with a lot of High End HP w/ a high top speed. i don't even know if we could compete with 1 on a track they handle pretty nice. light and nimble

agreed, the integra handles pretty damn good [my bro has a GSR] ppl use integs for autox as well as tracks like stated above with redline integs or something [red something] |

All I can say is Boost Controller! Turn up that bad boy to 10-13psi and you have no problems. If you are concerned about running that amount of boost on the t-25 just make your low setting stock and the high to 10-13. It makes a world of differece (as in 25hp difference...dyno proven)
Hp w/ your mods=180hp HP w/ your mods+12psi=215hp <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> edit-all numbers are rwhp I think a type-r would give you a serious run for your money hell I think a '01 celica gts would give you a run for your money. cliffs notes: Boost controller=more HP

there are like 3 type R's around here. theres one from atlanta that comes up to rape everyone and take their money. its supercharged!! like every possible mod you can think of, he has. its faaaast...
the one i like most is Rob's. its white, but he had debadged it. no wing, no stickers, no rear type R badge. only way you can tell it is the type r is b/c of the 5 lug's. hes got 5zigen exaust and Teins for sure, but i dunno what else he's got...

Im not trying to flame you, but every time theres a thread like this it gets filled with hear say and bench racing very quickly. IMO his car should have blown even a I/H/E Type R clear out of the water. Only conclusion is, the ITR was very quick.

Yes, obviously im the bench racer here when Ive asked for facts to be presented....
Im happy you felt inclined to respond on NR's behalf as his representative in these matters but id like him to respond to the post. I also see now that he'd mentioned those were rwhp #'s but the other questions still stand.

Question towards Nismo
1. Do you have a Nismo 180sx? 2. Do you have any reason why you would know what a SR can do (other than forums) 1. I have an SR 2. I have dynoed my car w/ intake, dp, exhaust, and boost controller= 204lb/ft and 194hp at 10psi 3. adding 2-3psi to will roughly=215-220lb/ft and 205hp 4. His mods are very similar to mine which has been dyno'd at stock boost 5. I have also raced type-r and won w/ 13psi You Sir have been 0wn3d <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> I love my SR but it by no means is the fastest thing out there and I am getting tired of everyone thinking that they are soooo damn fast (with the propper mods they are but I don't have them or the money and time to put them on). hell, most KA-T will whoop my ass, uuninja included ::he embarassed the SR w/ a KA-T. edit: had to correct some totals after looking at my dyno sheet
