My idling has recently started doing some funny things.. with or without the AC on.. it is weird, when at a light.. it will go up to 1000 rpms,, then drop fast to 500,, then slowly go back up... then drop back down to the line... etc... i don't have any engine mods at the moment.. any ideas?

tps?!.. ehh... what is that?
also, how much does a major tuneup cost? usually, from a dealer?.. i might want to do that oncei have intake and exhaust.. etc... what do you think?.. should i wait to solve the problem then if it isn't the MAF or the tps? |

sorry bout the acronyms tps is throttle position sensor its by your throttle body there are 2 screws on the top and bottom lossen those and you can move it like the distributer. you would need a multimeter set on volts of course.
maf ios mass air flow sensor thats by your air box usually with most nissans they need to be regrounded a major tune? hmm i think its 199 at my job but whjy go that way all it is are the following whihc can be done by anyone not mechanically inclined. sparkplugs airfilter new plug wires, fuel filter, oil change trnas fluid change i belive. what kinda car do you have a s13 correct? if yoiu need tips or help i can try and take some pics of how to do most of the stuff. the tsb (technical service bulliten) whihc i havent done the whole thing except check the ecu code got me a lil stumped thats probably the hardest part. but if needed like i said i dont minnd helping you and saving lotsa money after all that can go towards your muffler and cai |

thanks man! thats awefully nice of u!.. i'll check to make sure the MAF is grounded, and if that doesn't work. i'll attempt the Tps thing,, i might need some more coaching on that, but i can prob figure it out, i have an s14, but i'm sure the engine bays don't differ that much, i'll email ya if i get myself into trouble, thanks again man.
