where to place exhaust bung
I need to put an exhaust bung in for my wideband sensor.
Current I am thinking of about 8 inches back from the angle where the downpipe goes completely horizantal. I heard on headers the bung should be 2 inches from exhaust port But of course this would not be our case I have though of this spot because it's a good straight in the pipe so hopefully gases would not have abnormal flow. Also, should the bung itself stick into the exhaust pipe? Meaning, completely penetrate the downpipe wall? Thanks in advance collaborate. ![]() |

into downpipe - and mount it on the top half of the pipe, because condensed water in the exhaust could destroy your sensor (this is what i've heard)
the only thing that should get as close as 2 inches to the exhaust port is an EGT sensor. |
