cheap! I'd ask them what that 60 day warranty includes, though. They say they have a startup guarantee but it's typical for a small shop like this to offer nothing beyond that.

I'd also make sure you don't get that FWD SR20DET in the photo

stock vs stock, that engine will murder a KA, and pull on a SR. i wouldnt knock that engine, its a fine piece of engineering...

It won't pull on an sr at 14 psi. I can say that from experience.

Do you have the specs on that motor? Personaly from what little I know about it it should be making more power for the comp ratio it's making. I've never seen one hit past the 300hp mark even with the comptech supercharger.

All in all that motor does have some potential though. I'm just not a fan of roadsters.

s2000 engine has like 240hp and 155 tq. I don't think it'll pull away from a stock sr in an equally weighted car, and it still got less torque than the ka. All in all it might be better, but not for hte price.

Unless you're talking an S15 SR, it will. An S2000 weighs about as much as a loaded S14, and runs low, low 14s if driven correctly (sidestep the clutch at 6000rpm, shift at the rev limiter).

Better for the price is subjective. To find a better stock NA motor you have to go to BMW or Ferrari.

Keep in mind it is the JDM motor also that came with 250hp stock. I'm not a fan of honda's but the S2000 is pretty nice with it's 8000rpm redline, it would be fun to drive on the track. Plus it also is perfectly weighted at 50/50.

To toss a couple of ideas out here... The S2000 engine is, in fact a fine piece of engineering, making 240 NA horses. The problem is, a has been discussed and proven, all that output results in what I would describe as a maxed out engine... The comptech kit didn't put it over 300 horses because it isn't there to be had. NOS gets it there, but we know the evils of laughing gas. 9000 redline? I've heard a couple driven out to the redlin and I think it gave me a woodrow, but I'd take a built SR with all it's potential and known reputation for upgradability over the S2000. More than that, I like torque, so KA-T may be the direction, spring will tell my story.

you guys are wrong and right... you see, stock for stock, the S2000 can, will, and has taken Silvias off the line, into curves and out of them over and over again. the F20 or B20 whatever that motor was called, is a fine peice of motor engineering. the only problem wiht the Honda motor is that it is very, very, NA. i mean the engine is pretty much maxed at the factory so theres not much left done to the motor.. unless you want to rebuild it from the bottom up. that motor has potentiol but the fact that it's new and and almost maxed out makes it very pricey... for price to price vs. stock, the SR is the hands down winner.

THe SR20DET and even maybe some SR20DEs are very powerful. Nissan did a fine job at making a very strong engine and not givng us alot of the power at hand . the SR with very little work can reach 350 RWHP even using stock internals. (how do i know this? i play too much GT3) hell, all you have to do is buy a boost control and/ or a front mount intercooler and the SR is ready to take just about anything on the road. although givving the SR lots of goodies makes it a GOD twoards even the mighty B18c (Type R) or the K20a (RSX).

speaking of which... back to THE THREAD title... how much are we looking at here for the SR prices? cuz my s14 front clip cost me 2000 flat... but the catch is my freind's step dad owns the shop, the motor wasnt even tested, but it does have the start up warranty. now isnt that grand?

Silvia... my love
that was looong! i hope i put in everything.

looks like it says "uncut wiring" to me.

Ignitor and MAF? Head to your friendly local automotive recycler and ask for an ignitor for an '96 Infiniti Q45 and a MAF for a '89-'90 240SX (or take the opportunity to upgrade the MAF).

I dont see why NA is commonly referred to as a "problem" on this forum. Between a built SR and an S2000, Id like to see which has more of a problem accelerating through a series of corners. Not that the 240 chassis is a slouch but IMO when cornering is involved its very difficult to beat the linear and predictable powerband of an NA motor.

start a new post to dis the s2000. "I have driven an s2000 many times and yes they are good girl cars, but power wise they suck most of them only pull a high 9 to a 10 in the 8th mile. I got that on video to if ya need it. a civic si with a 50 shot will destroy it any day of the week. well back to the motors!
Has any one went through this place? im really interested. im sure if it comes with all that, even if its missing a few bits it cant add up to the 2700buck cost of all the other places can it? lets get some ifon going on the REAL topic here.

wow thats a lot of debate bout theese two motors... everyone knows the s2000 NA is better in its respects and the sr and ka is better in their respects.. the only way to settle it is a battle.... Drag, autoX and a couple track events.
