Testing a wideband 02 sensor?

Hi guys, I remember reading somewhere that you can test to see if a wideband 02 sensor is good by either blowing some chemical on it that you know should produce a certain afr reading, or heating it up, etc. I want to see if my sensor is bad and no one around me has a car with a wideband and I don't want to drop money on a new one if this one is fine. If anyone can help, that would be awesome.

The only way I know to test one is to throw it in the tailpipe and turn it on. If you think yours is busted, put the whole unit in someone elses car and try it. Make sure that it's powered (the gauge and the sensor itself), and the car's warmed up before you decide to junk it or not.

well for narrow band u test with propane.

you induce your system with propane and you see if it goes full rich and then let it drop to the bottom wen you turn off the propane and you snap throttle to see if it has a quick reaction to the full lean to full rich. it would help if you have a fluke 97 or dso cant remember been awhile sence ive tested a narrow. i know in teh smog update class for 2005 they teach you how to test wide band

What is a fluke 97 oro dso. Hmm, maybe I can put some propane over the sensor to see if it reads full rich or something. It sucks because I am litterally the only one out of all my friends here that has a wideband 02. My one buddy has one on his turbo gsxr but it's much smaller and has a different plug.
