i can change the bulbs cuz i cant get the god damn things off

Are you trying to pull them off, like the front fender side markers ? if so, it's not going to work, they don't use clips, there held in by 2 10mm nuts that you have to attack from the inside, so open the hatch and pull that carpet cover (whatever its called) aside, and you'll see.
