ok, so my 91 s13 has been having problems from time to time with cutting off.  its an automatic, but sometimes (all the time recently) when it idles at a stop light or traffic, it will rev between 1000 to 200 rpms.  i mean, it revs back and forth, and then about the third time, it ill stop all together.  all the lights will come on an so forth. if i keep my left foot on the brake, and rev to 800 or so while im stopped, then i have no problems.  i was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this problem, and when they did... or if anyone knows what i can do?!? it gets really bad to the point when im just coasting down the road, and the rpms will drop and it shutts off. this is not a good thing in heavy traffic, as you might well imagine. any help would be highly appreciated. thanks so much...

Check the alternator, check the wires leading up to it to. I had a similar problem, and the wires leading up to the Alternator were old and decaying, changed them and fixed it. Could also be a Air Flow Meter, try running a ECU check. (instructions on how to can be found at www.240sx.org under FAQ)
