HI,

I recently bought  a 1990 Nissan 240 sx.  Though it was purchased as is.  The seller/cardealers said if there was any problem to come back.  Well the thing is the night we bought ti home it over heated we thought it was just sitting to long and was clong.  We drove the car maybe a handfull of times in the past 3 weeks since we got it.  I recently over heated.  I filled the radiator,  we could not figure were the leak was.  Till we went in for an oil change and found that it was lt was leaking in the engine.  I can sometimes hear the lifters at other times nothing.  I took the car back to them and they put some gold stop leak in the raditor and said it should work.  The car is in great shape otherwise.  Its black and has a ragtop with a sunroof. I paid 2200 for the car.  Any suggestion.  I really wanted to fix this car up.  Fell in love with it a first site.  But now not so sure of what to do

If it just overheating you can check the thermostat, hoses, and ignition timing.  If it's leaking oil sounds like a serious problem, might be a gasket or something else, take it to a good mecanic to find out what's wrong.

For some reason I just dont see a stop leak doing more good than bad in a radiator.  It may clog passage ways for the coolant to some places like the heater core and who knows what else and make it overheat worse than it does already.  If they were willing to stand by the engine, make them fix it the right way by finding the problem (head gasket?) and fixing it.

How can a ragtop have a sunroof? I was under the impression that a ragtop was a convertable.

I'm guessing it's imitation ragtop.  It looks like fabric, but has a metal roof under it.  Am I right?
