my car used to have a realy bad oil leak and the body has over 200k on it. i wanted to get all the caked on oil and what looks to be like barnicals.lol how did you guys get rid of it all with out taking it all apart?

Best bet I would guess is get it up on a lift and go at it with degreaser and get all the caked up stuff off...

loving that idea but i just got my driveway repaved and i already messed it up with engine cleaner on my front mount.

Hell yeah and who gives a fuck, just respray the undercarriage. I usually blast it all off with a high powered steam cleaner then let it dry and paint all under it. A lift greatly helps

It depends on the condition on the coating. My frame rails have the undercoating scraped off already from being slammed. If it makes you feel better, just pick up a can of "Rubberized Undercoating" and re-spray it after you get done cleaning.

pressure washer + jack stands + castrol purple power in the purple jug + scraper (if needed) = clean underbody. now if that doesn't work you can get this gel paint stripper from a company called homax that will take off anything, and i mean ANYTHING so be careful if you use it and wear gloves cause that shit burns.

get a bucket of hot water and mix it with concentrated simple green and use an engine cleaning gun. works pretty well. you'll need an air compressor too though...

i have a big 60gal professional series craftsman air compressor. fuckin love that thing. i didnt know that they made engine cleaning guns. cool shit

what about the car washes that have the under body cleaners. if i sprayed all under my car before i went in, would that be good?

got mine at harbor freight...cheap as hell, not best quality, but it did what it was supposed to do

Better bet is to put it on an open deck trailer, go to a public car wash and go to town. A few cans of carb cleaner will loosen most of whatever is on the car, bring a change of clothes, lay down beside the trailer, and fire away, then finish with the pressure washer. The other option is to pull all the parts and clean the chassis separately, that way you can apply undercoat to areas not originally covered and reapply elsewhere.

thats how i did it. Just be carefull with those power washers. the one i used was like 500 PSI or some rediculous shit. Dame near put a hole in the block.

500PSI is weak. 3500PSI is the stuff to watch out for.

juss be and man and clean it all up and the put back undercoating with a brush.

like truckbed coating or ruberized spray cans.

make take like 3 or 4 times of pressure washing...

i find that zep makes a good degreaser.
