s13.4 help

okay i did pretty much my searching on here and couldnt find answers.......

if someone has a writeup for this and could post it up, that would be great! if not, here are some problems that i ran into:

1. I took out my flip-up hood and tried to install my s14 hood but the hinges need to sit more inward. so, do i need to redrill new holes to fit the hinges closer to the middle?

2. Is there a way to move my hood lock a little forward so that it can reach the hood?

You need the S14 hood hinges for it to line up with your S13 hood hinge. PM Yuri. He has one of the few clean examples of an S13.4.

You need to either redrill the stock hinges or get S14 hinges. I have a pair of S14 hinges if you want to buy. PM me.

For the latch, use washers to space it forward.

Mine fits perfectly with no adjustment necessary. I'm using S14 hinges though.

EDIT: I left out that I'm using AIT brackets which makes everything line up perfectly.

washers on the hood latch and s14 hood hinges. Had no problems with mine, but my rockers are pretty fucked so im taking to a body shop for final alignment before I paint it.

There's a good pix of the hood latch in this thread: http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...ighlight=s13.4

I haven't done body panel alignment yet though so ignore the exterior pix. I was just figuring out how everything goes together. It's like a jigsaw puzzle.

I'm going to get the body panel gaps perfect though after I get the car sorted out.

Bodywork is like the last thing you do after you've fixed everything else

Mine is the same way. Only one bolt is holding the hood hinge to the body.

new plugs are easier, but I just took the wiring diagram and run the lows on the s13 harness to the low beams on the headlights, highs to high beams on the headlight, etc.

You should get the harness that goes with the headlight for the low beam side. It comes with the rotary knob that forms a water tight seal. The wires go through the knob and they have a grommet around them to keep out water.

That's the best way to do it. If you don't have that, you can use spade terminals for the low beam. It's not ideal and make sure you seal up as watertight as possible to prevent shorts.

For the high beam side, you can standard high beam bulb plugs for bulb 9005 from any auto parts store. It's not hard to find.

As far as the bulb harness to the body harness, you can use spade terminals and plug the power wires directly into the stock 3 prong harness meant for H4 bulbs. For ground you can just connect straight to chassis ground.

The hole for the bulb is huge. You can fit 5 fingers in the hole

Make sure you get the knob to seal it.

Mine won't help you since I did all the wiring myself. I have no factory wiring left.

are all of you using the ait/b-magic conversion fenders? because i'm using i think it was vis fenders and it didnt come with any brackets, so i purchased s14 headlight brackets and today i realized it's no use. i might go ahead and order the brackets alone from ait if there's no easier way to get around this. and g6civcx, you're using the ait brackets correct? i know the two brackets are for the headlights in the front and there's one for the hood latch and front bumper. what are the other 4 pieces for?

The core supports are different. Don't buy S14 light brackets.

I tried before. They wouldn't sell me the brackets alone without the fenders. You can try though and see.

Yes.

The thicker ones are support for the fenders where it meets the bumper, and the two thinner longer ones are for bracing the fenders to the inner of the wheel well.

It's like a jigsaw puzzle, but when you put them up against the car you'll see. They only fit one way, and the areas needing support will be clear.
