Everyone runs MB weapons, and they will clear the brakes. Once again, rim/spoke design determine clearance, not offset(for the most part). I'd be more concerned w/it clearing your suspension w/that offset.

Yes, dont get +27. 'Specially on a S14. Get the +19(?). Roll the fenders, you'll be fine. You're going to stretch the tires a little anyway, you have nothing to worry about.
END THREAD.

Yea, the lower offset is actually a +17, and I'm getting these wheels for track use. So, I was thinking of running 245/40/17 all around. I was just thinking that the +27 would be able to give me more camber adjustment, and also the +27 would allow me to run a little more rubber underneath the fenders and preferably I wouldn't want to go with a stretched tire for my track setup(because it's going to be for grip). But just knowing that they will clear z brakes without spacers is big sigh of relief.
Anymore input? thanks Mike |

Don't quote me on this but i think you need a 5 mil spacer in the front depending on coilovers. s13 or s14?

So you would have to add a spacer inorder to clear coilovers, adding more rotational mass. Thats the exact opposite of what you want to do with aftermarket wheels. You would be better off get the +17 and pulling the fenders for fitment or just getting some fender flares.
For camber adjustments are you planning on going + camber? just get some universal fender flares and fit the +17s. Function over form for a track set up anyway right?

so if u can get the +27 crazy cheap - it'll be fine with a small spacer... dont get me wrong - rotational mass is bad (as is unsprung weight) - but the weight of a spacer isnt really gonna effect it with a mb wheel (they arent terribly light)

dang guys! appreciate all the info this is helping out a lot! I guess I'm going to go with what DRTYRAT said and just get the +17 and run 245 40's all around since I already rolled my fenders it seems like i shouldn't have any clearence issues.
On a side note i just wanted to be able to not rub my front fenders with the 245's in front at 0 degrees camber. Really appreciate this a lot. thanks again Mike |

I'm running the +27's on my S14, clears Z brakes and coilovers without spacers. Running 245/40/17 in front and 265/40/17 rears.
Robert Edit: 8 inch front, 9 inch rears.

i ran 17x9 +27 w/ 255/45 all around -2.1F/-3.0R camber, no roll nor pull. Front needs 5mm spacer to clear KTS coilover. I also have z brakes and they clear by a mile.
You guys should state your camber specs on top of all your spec because if I ran with an 0 offset, it would be sticking out past the fender. |

cool thanks for all the info guys now its just a matter of getting the +17's or +27's, any recommendations of which offset i should run for a grip setup? not going for looks just going for performance at this point. On a side note i would rather run a little higher offset and be able to stick a little bit bigger tire underneath, without having to worry about it rubbing my fender or coilover. I'm also running tein basics if that helps anyone, also probably going to run 1.5-2 degrees of camber all around.

the +27 will hit MOST coilovers in a 9 wide.
you'll need a 5mm spacer... so id get +17 unless ur getting a crazy deal onm +27

i 'm getting them from discount tire wholesale so i believe they are the same price, but i've explained my predicament. Anyone have a weapon on their car i can drive over and see if it hits my coils in either a +17 or +27 offset? I just want to see any clearance issues on my car? let me know
thanks for all the help!!!! mike |

I guess I'm going to go with the +17 all around and run a 245/40/17 all around with probably 1-1.5 degrees negative camber at the most. From what everyone has said thus far, I've gathered that since my fenders are rolled I should have no rubbing of the coilover nor rubbing of the fender with this setup, correct? If anyone has any more in put on this please let me know, I've really appreciated all the help this far.
Thanks a lot Mike |
