rear strut help??

is it hard to put on a rear strut bar in 92 HB ..... do you have to take off all the plastic that covers the shocks or can do it by just pulling of the little panel that covers it .... ?

if you want to do it the easy way, YES you need to take off all the things that's blocking your way to get the bolts off the strut. if you want to do it the HARD way then, then no but just thinking about how much trouble you will gone through and at the end you still have to take everything out so that you can install it.

strut bar in H/B

Pull off the panels, install the mounts, then cut small holes into panels, slide the bar through and bolt to mounts. Re-instal the panels, and the bar is mounted, but you don't have to see the mounts, just the chrome bar going across.Just did it in an 89 & looks fine.

I took off all of those panels when screwing around with my suspension. I even took off the speaker panels. Now, it's fuggin' hard to put that crap back on! Too many screws and stuff. Unfortunately, my hatch leaks thru the spoiler or butyl rubber, and water gets on my tail light wires.

water leaks

If the water is leaking in through spoiler? Remove the spoiler from deck-lid. Fill holes with clear silicone, then remount the spoiler and tighten the bolts back up. This will provide watertight seal.If leaking through rubber seals, and if not broken, smear sight bit of vasoline or other waterproof jelly around rubber seal. This should keep it dry unless you open & close hatch quite a bit.Same vasoline trick works for sunroof, but keep it closed to keep seal solid.
Good luck.
