Hey guys i just pick up a 89 240 with a ka24de had several questions. There is aloud clacking noise that i hear at about 3000 rpms. if i shift the car before that i really cant hear the noise. Does anyone have any suggestions to what can be causing the noise.

Depends where the noise is coming from.
How many miles does the engine have?

Possibly the Timing Chain, they always make noise.

probably timming chain the sound usually kicks in around 3k rpms. are the guides removed?
