Fitting Pitch thread.

The wrong fitting sizes get posted alot. These are all I've found.

Water Line Fittings
Block 14x.15
Water Neck 14x1.5
GT Series Turbo 14x1.5

Oil Feed Fitting
Block 12x1.25 Fitting, 12x1.25 to -3 is kinda rare but pegasus can get it.
Ball Bearing Turbo 7/16ths Inverted Flare
Non Ball Bearing Turbo 1/8th NPT.

Power Steering
Return 16x1.5 O ringed
Rack High Pressure 14x1.5 O-ringed
Pump High Pressure 16x1.5 Crush Washer.

Other
Brake Booster Intake Manifold 14x1.5
Oil Block 1/8th BSPT
DEFI Water Temp Sender 1/8TH BSPT (only Juran has right pitch rad hose adapter)
Greddy Intake Manifold Ports 1/8th BSPT.

Cool thanks, I actually need this for new power steering lines. And these are for any specific motor?

Where were you earlier today, dammit? I needed to to know the thread pitch on the S14 waterneck. Luckily I go the right adapter.

One thing on the Defi water temp sensor. According to Defi's website it's listed as 1/8 NPT, not BSPT. There may be a difference between imperial and metric gauges, however.

http://www.defi-shop.com/product/met...parts_imp.html

Good thread BTW.

Nice, I've been wanting to figure out this in a list for a while now, what size line would you recommend running for water line and oil line on a gt series turbo? What about a powersteering setup?

IIRC, all the brake fittings are 10X1.5.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

8$

Technically it needs a crush washer.

I just used Teflon Tape.

What's the size of these two sensors right here? My old HKS water temp sensor seems to be the same but still possibly different, after tightening the HKS sensor in there it left a few small shavings. It looks dead on though when I compare both the threads

here's the HKS sensor end

You guys know they sell thread pitch gauges. They're really cheap and they will tell you what pitch anything is. They have them for standard and metric.

Or another way would be go to the hardware store that has a good selection of bolts and nuts. And buy one of each of the different threads you think you will encouter. Then mark these carefully and use them to test the threads. Just don't be stupid and try and tighten them too much or this will not work very well as a way of figuring out threads.

And the brake line fittings look like m10x1, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

And those water fittings, if I remember right, they're M12x1.25.

But again, both of those could be easily measured. Most threads are different enough where you won't run into problems unless you're the type of person that shouldn't really be touching a car anyway.

The worst one is probably the difference between BSPT and NPT. 1/8" NPT is 27 threads per inch. 1/8" BSPT is 28 threads per inch. And you will be able to thread BSPT stuff into NPT holes and vice versa and it will screw up the threads or the fitting, depending on the materials. A lot of the ports on the motors and even aftermarket parts look like they're NPT, but they're really BSPT. So be careful about that one.

But other than those, everything can be measured pretty easily. Or you can use known nuts/bolts to measure stuff as well.

It's British Standard Pipe Thread versus National Pipe Thread. I think it's just a metric thing or something else. I don't know why, but they did. I'm not sure if other Japanese Manufacturers used it as well, but I would assume that they did.

What's the best way to seal the 16 x 1.5 mm fitting on the power steering pump? Just a regular 16mm crush washer? I looked into Stat-O-Seals and Dowty seals, but they don't come in metric equivalent sizes, and getting something that's "close enough" to 16mm seems ghetto.

Other question: is it advisable to tap a 1/8" BSPT port to 1/8" NPT? I don't like running adapters if possible.

I did mine last night...9/16 Statoseal works perfect

HOWEVER using two of them next to each other will require some very careful trimming of both (don't screw up the rubber o ring thingy) in order for them to sit flush.

Some may have gotten it to work, but I say no. Threads are tooooo close for my comfort. Adapter it is

Cody, you mean 5/8" statoseal? 5/8" = 15.875mm

And I 100% agree with you on the tapping a BSPT hole to NPT. You would just end up with a mess. They're 1 thread per inch different. Run an adapter or hunt down a sensor with BSPT threads. Or weld on a fitting or drill it out to something bigger and tap it. There are ways to not run adapters.
