My 97 transformation (body work build)

well i purchased my s14 about 4 months ago and it looked good here are the pics of it when i bought it:







now looked good but IMO it needed work so i started I added some custom graphics designed by my friend at intunedonline.com, fixed the trunk added a small system, powder coated the super advans replaced the carbon fiber hood and put a carbon fiber trunk...










now it was good went to 2 shows and placed, but IMO it still wasnt clean for me.

so the body work began.

well come to find out in the beginning stages was going to be alot more work for instance just 1 thing door handles where bondo and riveted in.






so then it was getting the body ready to











here test fitting the new JDM aero kit (going for a cleaner look)





almost ready for paint all primed up








Now car is in the booth now for paint, so should be done and painted by weds this week.

ill post pics when its done, but just wanted to get peoples oppinions.

im doing a 2tone paint scheme, the top (pillers, roof, mirrors will be black to go with the carbon hood/trunk) rest of the car will be acura champion white

now hopefully i'll get some rims bought this week to to replace the super advans.

that car is going to look clean with the not-so-agressive aero and cf accents, please dont fruit it up with the vinyl.
and get some spacers for those craptastically sized advans

edit. just saw youre replacing the advans/ whatcha got in mind? i think some black VS-xx's would hit the spot

Nice work. O.G. OEM Nissan parts is the way to go. I'm not sure about the black roof...seems a little played out, but I'm interested to see some pictures once it's painted.

to answer some questions...
no there will not be any vinyl this time, clean simple look
as for rims.. well i had my eye on the evolution stich rims that are for sake in the f/s section... or some work s1 rims

do you think those would look good ?
the only other rims i was thinking about are the volk gt-f

let me know what you think...
and the pics will be up soon finished by weds.
unfortunately they will have the advans on but i hope that is temporary

I agree black roof has been a little played out, but i still like it. Maybe try to do a digital style fade to black.. Saw it once on a complete paint fade and about shit myself. It was GORGEOUS! Kinda labor intensive tho.

I like that black roof. With a nice tint all around, it would give it a look like some of the cars with a huge glass roof. 911 Targa kind of.

I personally can't stand black roofs on S13 coupes or S14's because you have to make a fake line. Looks bad and unclean to me. Not a fan of the unpainted CF hood and trunk either.

Car does look good over-all though. Looks like you did a lot of work. Good for you.

Make sure you extend your exhaust or put a metal burn plate on there so you don't burn your new paint again.

i have kouki sides to put on,
i can understand what your saying about a fake like IMO they did a good job with it,
ill try to get a better pic over the weekend, but i understand.
we are going to make a burn plate i noticed that today, that it sits way to high.
no vinyl keeping it clean and simple look.
the 2tone isn't for everyone, Ive seen it a bunch of times just something i like.

Fake two tone roofs w/ CF hood and trunk look like HIN 1999.

But you car is way hotter then mine, so props to you. And plus it's your car so my opinion doesn't really matter.
