Hey guys, I just got to Japan about two weeks ago and I know there's a couple other people on the board over here. I'm going to be here for either 4 months or a year (not positive yet) and I really want to meet some of you guys who are over here, check out some cars, hit a mountain or whatever. I'm down for anything really. For the last two weeks I've pretty much just been walking around taking pictures of whatever nice cars I see but with my limited japanese it's tough to strike up a conversion with any of the locals about their rides or what's going on in the area. If anyone is up to show me around, hang out or whatever let me know and I'll PM you my #. Or if anyone just has some tips on where I can go to see some cars/action that'd be great too.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but there's no board for Japan in the regional forum.

I'm doing study abroad at Obirin University which is why I'm not sure how long I'll be here. I'd like to stay a year but it would push back my graduation so it might only be a semester. I'm in Fuchinobe, about 10 minutes from Machida by train. My japanese is good enough to get around but I definitely can't follow a normal conversation, especially about cars.

Car Japanese is the easiest Japanese of all.. All you have to do is take the English word and make it sound Japanese. For example, turbo becomes ta-bo, injector is injyekuta, LSD is eru esu ji, tiya, hoiru, shaka-cho, injin, mufura, bureki, intakura, etc. If you can read Japanese take your ass to Yafu Auctions or UpGarage.com and read up on some part names.
