watched tnn "trucks" earlier, wondering about propane injection

i watched a show on tnn this morning called trucks. and the were installing a propane injection system on a diesel truck, as a power adder. i didnt catch all of the beggining, but was wondering if that is for diesel vehicles only. they also hooked up a NO2 system to it. thanks, matt

Yes you can do propane injection to add more fuel, my friend is doing it as we speak on his DSM to help with fuel cut. I'm not sure about the exact power increase though

Interesting but old trick. Deisel is a whole different ball game, they don't make as much hp as gasoline engines, but the propane is a good trick. You probably woudn't expect to see alot of hp gains with a propane system, but it's definetly a different for of fuel. Ah, I don't know if I'd bother because stacey (the host of trucks) said that it could get really expensive to buy the kit, and who know's if they really make one for our cars.

ok , thanks for the replies. i was just wondering because the truck seemed turbo( pretty sure i heard him talking about a wastegate at some point), but they didnt seem to want to build up the turbo settup at all. they must be thinking the propane + NO2 was a more cost effective settup. probably not what i would want on my car. though i wouldnt mind taking that chevy truck for a whip,
matt

Truck like that are a total diffrent ball game. its all about torque. The turbo they have is far bigger than needed to creat huge power. My boy runs propaine on his tdi golf. The thing is kinda fast but it could pull a house down.
