![]() I own a 97 240sx, I was just informed that the well balanced all around bad ass street car i was going to get (94 6 speed tt supra) can no longer be mine due to insurance purposes. So i am thinking of doing what i intended to do with my car in the first place, which is swap the sr20det. I am curious, i will be doing auto-x and 1/4 mile, what kind of times should i expect from a well modded well balanced sr20det 240sx. Will i be able to get 11-12 sec times with minimal lag for autocross? Or is that not achievable with the sr20det. Just need your info not your critism and trash talk, thank you.

You could search and look for more info but here mine goes.
If you plan to get an SR20 it wouldn't be that hard to get into the 12s in the 1/4 mile with a bigger turbo and a handfull of goodies. Your also gonna have to get a lot of internal work for it to be reliable. But if you do get a bigger turbo it will just mean more lag, so it won't help much in Auto-X. Solutions: Get and good external wastegate, and a good BOV, it will reduce a lot of the lag and you could practice hell toe braking, so when you get back on the gas the RPMS are up. My favorite Turbo for the SR20, which is expensive as hell but will diffenatly get you into the 12s: HKS GT30PRO S Turbo |

Or get the engine, and then get the Enjuku turbo setup. I don't know exact price on it ($3500?), but it got their sr20det into the 11's, with 391hp.
