To you Power FC Experts. Check this please.
Ok so I checked my sensors and I have solid dots on the following sensors:
IGN solid black STR solid black ECC sold black F/P solid black O2H solid black VTC will blink once when I tap on the gas but doesnt stay on. This is what I have at idle: InjDuty 1.7% Ign Tmng 30 deg at idle AirFlow 1270mV 1290mV EngRev 1100-1153 rpm Knock 2 - 5 at idle, went as high as 30 when I drove around. Wtr Temp 70 Boost ------ mmHg <--- I guess thats because I dont have the boost control kit? I have my own boost controller though. Im taking this thing to get tuned as soon as I get my 2871r, for now, I'd like to know what is going on with my motor. Anything I should be concerned with or any advise?? |

The knock is normal. The knock sensor measures all engine sounds. The reason you are not reading boost is because you do not have a factory boost sensor. So that sensor reads nil. Recommend you still go get it tuned by someone who knows what they are doing. PFC is dangerous thing in the hands of a n00b.

For a stock SR, he shouldnt be seeing knock like that at idle. Something is really wrong. Stock boost and 30? 15% knock? No good. There is a problem there and it needs to be looked at now. For a more modified car, I would expect the knock to be higher because of a louder valvetrain or large vibrating turbo, but not like this.

I've seen knock sensors jump all over the place without the engine actually knocking, lots of things can cause the issue, such as a bad knock sensor...

You just post to waste time?
Obviously, but for the sake of the "internet" you have to assume everything here is a sample test in a vacuum on a perfectly set up automobile. Once you take that factor away, you have to have someone look at the car in person. Taking that into account, that is why I provided the first link for him to take the car to a tuner, because there is no quantifiable way to make an accurate diagnosis of anything simply through the internet. I swear some people want argue for the sake of arguing.

If you think there is something potentially wrong I would actually take the car to whomever is tuning it first. No need in going through installing more stuff if something is wrong and you are still going to have to get the car looked at. I am sure you can get a base set up done for fairly cheap and then go get crazy later, but either way I would imagine that you will visit a tuner more than once, assuming you are going to be as meticulous as some people are about break in and retuning.
