Test Pipe???????

Alright, I have a 91 240sx and I am planning to do and Sr20 S14 swap soon.
My exhaust system and cat. converter is shot right now.
Im thinking of getting a test pipe in place of the cat. and run 3 inch pipe from the test pipe back.
Does anyone have any opinions on this. Please help?
Peace,
KcDre

The sr20det will keep the catalytic convertor. The real cat is connected directly to the KA header. If you get a sr20det downpipe, it will replace the piping to the fake-cat. From there, you can get a test pipe, which will mate to the cat-back systems available.
That's what I am doing right now on my KA-T. You'll hear a lot of popping and mabey shoot fire during shifts.

Would you recommend getting a test pipe or should I just upgrade the cat. converter? I dont really want all the fire and popping right yet. Its going to be a street car for a few more years.
Thanks?

s14 240sx dummy cat

just use an s14 hallow undercar dummy catalyst, the s14 has a correctly shaped and hallow unit, because it uses a close coupled catalyst (KA24DE) it makes to any exhasut and downpipe.
