Test Pipe???????
![]() Alright, I have a 91 240sx and I am planning to do and Sr20 S14 swap soon. My exhaust system and cat. converter is shot right now. Im thinking of getting a test pipe in place of the cat. and run 3 inch pipe from the test pipe back. Does anyone have any opinions on this. Please help? Peace, KcDre |

The sr20det will keep the catalytic convertor. The real cat is connected directly to the KA header. If you get a sr20det downpipe, it will replace the piping to the fake-cat. From there, you can get a test pipe, which will mate to the cat-back systems available.
That's what I am doing right now on my KA-T. You'll hear a lot of popping and mabey shoot fire during shifts. -Jeff

Would you recommend getting a test pipe or should I just upgrade the cat. converter? I dont really want all the fire and popping right yet. Its going to be a street car for a few more years.
Thanks? KcDre |

s14 240sx dummy cat
just use an s14 hallow undercar dummy catalyst, the s14 has a correctly shaped and hallow unit, because it uses a close coupled catalyst (KA24DE) it makes to any exhasut and downpipe.
