![]() Does anyone have any remmedies for maintaining oil pressure? I've researched it and so far, aside from installing an aftermarket oil pump, (which almost does not exist for my engine), I was wondering if anyone had any remedies for maintaining the oil pressure? Anything that is completely home made or otherwise? Right now, when it's still cold, I have decent pressure, the kind I'd like to keep. Anywhere from 4 to 6 bar. After it's heated up, it drops to 2 and usually below. 2 bar is the lowest safe point for oil pressure and it's pretty much stayed around there or under after a good run or driving for a while. I am going to be installing an oil cooler and this will affect it some but I still want to find a way to keep the pressure up around 4 or so. Anyone?

2 bar is plenty enough oil pressure at idle. Thats about 29psi, and thats exactly what mine reads (actually a little lower than that). Oil pressure should only be 4 bar in the upper rpm's.
Your pressure sounds fine man. Dont worry about it. With a good oil cooler and a Greddy oil pan your motor will have more than an adequate amount of oil. Shoot, without either one of those you should be fine. Those are just precautionary measures.

Unless Greddy changed their product line in the last 8 months or so, no, they don't. Even when I was in the motherland, they didn't have anything for the CA. For them, it wasn't financially viable, so the product line for the most part was dropped to curtail more for the SR and RB line. I spent 4 years +, at this point dealing with that. There aren't many that do any more. There are some aftermarket dealers that do but not many... Hence the request for any info from anyone on methods to increase my oil pressure. I'm tired of gassing the engine to keep the oil pressure up... I intend to introduce an oil cooler to bring my temps down but something to increase the pressure, that's what I'm interested in. It's not that I don't appreciate the info, I do...

I'm already running with the Valvoline with the 'red cap'.. it's like 15W-40, something like that.. I recently went with that via some info from another friend from overseas. It runs good but oil pressure still drops when it's hot.. I'm hoping an oil cooler, dropping the temperature some will help keep the oil pressure up but I'm holding my breath.
