The side of my tires say inflate to 40 PSI but my mechanic says the correct pressure is around 35 PSI. I have a 1997 240SX SE. What's the right pressure?

depends on ur tire... cuz ur pressure will be determined by how heavy ur car is and how much air is inside it
what ur manual says coudl be for its stock tires, jus tinflate to 35 cuz thats standard for most tires
lower it in summer cuz it'll get hot easily and mite pop
