![]() Ive heard that you need to change the timing of the engine so that no detonation occurs if you swap an sr20det into a 240. any useful information would be appreciated.

Depends. Sometimes the crank angle sensor (equivelent of the ka distributor) will get jarred or messed with during shipping. If that's the case then yes you'll need to time the motor.
However most of the time it doesn't. Once you put the motor in you won't need to chance the timming whatsoever. Just make sure you always put high octane fuel in the car. Just as a precautionary measure. If you do need to hook up a timming gun hood it up to the first coil pack. 3 wires, I believe the middle wire white/black is the one you need. G'luck Jed |

Would I need to put octane booster because the engine is used to 103 octane? I def. don't want my baby to detonate or anything.
