BNR32 brakes on s13

Anybody have firsthand experience with a full BNR32 GTR brake setup on a
s13?

I am having trouble with my rears right now.
something seems wrong. with the rotor and caliper on, they will turn slightly and then abruptly stop.
when i bolt the wheel on, i can't even turn it at all.

e brake isn't hooked up yet.
drum shoes dont appear to be too tight against the rotor.
pads dont seem to be too tight.

Loosen up the adjustment on the e-brake drum, it is probably too tight and is sticking.

Yeah, that is what I thought.
The e brake cable isn't even hooked up yet.

I loosened up one side so far (the shoes). I could easily slide the rotor on. Still had them problem...

maybe the skyline hat size on the rotor was tad smaller then z32 rotor??

Not supposed to be. Z32, Q45, J30, R32, BNR32, R33 should all have the same size rear rotor. What upright is being used, stock?

had a similar problem with a jeep one time... turned out I had the wrong bearing assembly... trying to take apart the rear in my mind... don't think that could be the problem though

ya stock s13 upright.
i used s14 ones on mycar no problems z32 rear brakes w/ the drum and all
i havent had a chance to come over and look at brians brakes been out of town
gotta see first hand myself what isnt working right.

Maybe you dropped a french fry behind the rotor?

I'm pretty sure I didn't leave it in gear either....
I should double check that for sure...

check the pin for the e-brake, depending on if you have tabbed hubs etc. i had a similar issue where the "flange" of the pin rotated and came in contact with the drums surface.

X2. I had a similar problem when using J30 uprights with Z32 calipers/rotors.

True, that does happen. I actually cracked a rotor that way, breaking some of the inner hat material off.

How did you guys fix that problem???

thats how i figured out the problem. it was only a small piece off the "drum" portion. nothing to worrie about, i havent had an issue at all. when you tighten the nut for the pin just make sure the "flange" is straight, and dont try to tighten it more once the rotor is on.

Exactly. Just pull the rotor and check the see if the kingpin is lined up perfectly, some tabbed hubs don't have an alignment pin to hold it in place, once tightened it rotates a hair and hits the inner hat. Even if that's the case, it only breaks a little portion off, the one I broke was maybe a hairline piece about two inches long. We realigned it and he's been driving on the rotor for three years.

It kind of looked like rat pellets when we got the rotor off. Iron rat pellets.
