spark plug gapping?
i just got my plug wires and plugs from PDM [ thanks Don ]
anyways i got some NGK iridium plugs, do i need to gap these? or the fit right in. |

I think AutoZone (or YFLAPS) shoudl sell the tool.

You really can't gap Iridium plugs (trust me, I know), with a $.99 slide-gapper from AutoZone.
The only safe way in my eyes is to get the expensive gapping tool that looks like pliers. It will gap them down, but never up. You can not make a larger gap in Iridium plugs. Also, the gap depends on the mods / ignition that you have. .035" is usually a safe place to gap if you have mods. On my KA-T, I think I'll gap down to .028" or so. -Jeff

cool , i ended up picking up the tool from kragen. quick and easy install.. car feels more alive.. now to fix that pesky exhaust flange gasket
