Another SR won't start thread...

I have a s14 SR in a s14 with a slim battery.

Usually, I could crank it for a while and it would eventually start. But now, it doensn't have enough juice to keep cranking long enough to start. I have to jump start it and it helps to press the gas to get it started. it idles fine and does not overheat once it starts. it backfires as soon as I start going and ok after that initial one. why won't it start right away? just keeps cranking for a while before it starts.

i would say timing, otherwise check your battery for the correct voltage. also get it load tested. sounds like you either need tuning or if you have a tps (i'm not to familiar with sr's) maybe you want to look into that.

Who did the wiring? The original swap wiring in my car was so shitty it sometimes couldn't start just because there was so much voltage drain, etc
