![]() I live 5 miles from Realtime in Saukville WI. And my friend just delivered 2 Nissan Engines to them. Word has it they have gotten a full sponsorship from Nissan. He doesnt know much about Nissan so he didnt know what engine it was, but Ill put my money on the 350z in the GT class.
For those who don't know Realtime has dominated the speedvision touring car series for the past 5 years at least. Peter Cunningham (the owner) has many championships driving the NSX as well as pierre klienubing in the RTR Integra type r. Pretty exciting for us and Nissan!

That's interesting. It's always pretty cool seeing their integras tearing up the track with such a competitive field....b18 vs. inline six's and v-8's from the m5's. Any clue as to what car they are planning on using?

Ill put my money on the 350z. But who knows what nissan has planned. If its the 350z that means itll only be in the GT class as far as touring class if anything the Sentra SpecV but that ll be a step down from the RSXin my opinion.

I don't think the spec-v will be competative against the rsx, so i doubt they will be using that car. I would have to say the 350z is about to dominate the gt class. Stock 285hp (i think) i can only imagine how much extra realtime will be able to squeez out of it. I am guessing that by the time they are done with it the 350z will have close to 350hp at the crank!
I am going to check out the realtime website to see what i can find out. -DbD- |

Remember that the field is 'evened up' quite a bit... slower cars are allowed more modifications. The Mazda Protege gets a bunch of help in terms of weight breaks and allowed modifications, and it's competitive. If someone ran a Sentra SE-R they'd likely get similar treatment.

True. Remember Roger Foo's Civic that suprised everyone two years ago? It had 265hp. Compared to Realtimes Acura integra Type R which amazingly enough only has 212. I know this because I talked to head mechanic Duane Wickman. Pretty impressive. The Protege's I would guess have somewhere between 240-260 hp so that just proves Realtimes dominance. I can't wait to see what happens.

The Nissan thing is gonna be very hush, hush I am guessing. I only know because of my friend that delivers their parts. I bet no announcements till end of this next season. So in november, I think. So keep it on the DL. And if you don't you didn't hear this from me.

265? uhhh... it had a near-stock B16A. Cams, a little massaging here and there, but no 265hp. I'll dig up the SCC feature on the Touring cars later... it's from 2000 but the rules haven't changed much. They're all nearly stock for the most part, built similar to IT rules.
Having the B16A alone was a HUGE advantage given to that Civic. Noone else gets engine swaps. |

ALRIGHT!! sounds cool to me... we need another cheap RWD nissan sports car for the touring class like the 240 used to be...
US touring car racing seems to be on the rise, i like it!! ![]()

aka driver b16a near stock? the ITR realtime raced were integra type r engine. This is what the manager for realtime told me. But maybe he was lying. because we all know that he has a good reason to. The advantage was given to the civic just like the protege. The ITR was pretty much stock except for some suspension and basic I,H,E.
