Hey just wanted to fill you guys in on some info that was passed on to me. Now i don't remeber it exactly but here is what he told me. The speed govener kicks in around 115mph. it also steps in at some where past 5 grand in fifth gear. also at one point in fourth gear the govener will kick in. Now i do believe what he told me its just that i don't remember exactly what he told me so sorry guys. on another note, he drives a 91 240 with ka bored out to 2.5L  he said it moved the redline and his peak torque has been moved also. i was wondering what kind of benifit would this have?

Well if he bored his engine to 2.5 more power in obvious.  As for raising the redline he can no push his valve springs closer to destruction, and hopefully he has raised the top speed too.  The speed governer kicks in just past 5000rpm's in 5th which is 115mph or so.  By rasing that he'll obviouslly have a higher top speed.

The benefits of this, he can go faster then a stock 240 and get their quicker.  But I haven't encountered many situations where going that fast will be a benefit, day-to-day.  $0.02
