I fail at installing steering wheels.

So I got my new Nardi wheel in today and I went to install it. I spent an hour taking off my wheel and wiring up the horn and to my surprise A NRG short hub doesn't work with their slim quick release.

It is physically impossible to install the slim quick release on the short hub because of that middle thing.

So, who wants to trade me a regular hub with my short hub or a regular quick release for my slim one?

something isn't right here. That threaded portion should not be sticking out that far. On my WB short hub the threaded parts sits within the hub and the quick release has plenty of room to go on. Did you remove the clocking spring for some reason?

Haha, you're not supposed to use a slim hub with a slim QR. Known fact, as far as I'm concerned.

Get the full size hub and keep the QR, or vice versa - you'll like the steering wheel position anyway.

Heh I ran into the same problem, but instead of running a slim quick release, I wanted to just run the short hub. It bolted fine, but I couldn't fit the horn because of that damn nut.

Either buy a 1" spacer from ebay, or you can trade me for a hub or quick release. I've got both--bought from jxn aka carparthookup.

FYI, if you look up the NRG site, it states specifically that their short hub is not for use with the slim hub.

I looked on the NRG website and didn't find anything about not being able to run a slim qr on a short hub. I am used to and like the stock position, that's why I got the 360mm wheel.

slider2828 and mrflip I replied to your pm's. Thanks!
