Z32 brake size help...

so YEARS ago (back when lennon still had a lot more hair on his head) i picked up a set of Z32 calipers and rotors for the front of my S13 from a junk yard (paid 100 bux for rotors and calipers hhheehheh)...at the time i was told the car was a 90 Z32 i THINK...as the years have gone by i have forgotten what i was told exactly and have stuck with the stock rotors and such upfront...but i am looking to upgrade the rotors to something drilled and slotted possibly as well as the brake pads

question is...how do you tell the difference between the aluminum and iron Z32 calipers...and how do you know to use a 30mm rotor or a 28mm rotor???

i need to figure out what size rotor to order and ive read quite a few places that the Z32s were kinda mix and match with the aluminum and iron calipers with their rotors sizing

if someone could reference this with pictures i would be very appreciative...i DID run a search and couldnt find the info i was looking for O.O

alum. has what look like fins. irons don't.

rotors are either 30mm or 26mm. alums can be either. irons only 30mm.

give searching another try. pictures are definitely out there.

Take a magnet, if it holds its iron. Iirc iron was 91 or 92 and up.

The 300zx brake guide should have all the info you need man (cc4usmc is probably gonna light a fire under my ass for this lol) :

There's a million pics and threads on this. Creating one more because you fail at researching is just pathetic.

For the record since the responses above aren't much better:

90-92 are all aluminum
93-96 are iron
Only the 1990 NA models are 26mm, all the rest are 30mm

And there's always (gasp) a ruler. Yes, a ruler. They've been making them for a few years now I hear.
