oem and after market oil pressure sensor
I need a T so i can run the oem and an after market oil pressure switch. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I tested to see what the oem switch is and its a 1/8 pipe thread. Havent had a chance to see what the after market one is but can someone give me a link to a T fitting with one male and two female 1/8 pipe thread fittings?
Thanks for your time |

Horrible idea. Really. Throw the OE sender away, thread your new one right into it's place. You'll realize your idea was bad when you change the sender out yearly due to severe oil leaks.

that or in my case when the T breaks... the way i did it was i got the autometer adapter for the sending unit to the block, which happens to be the same thread pitch as a grease gun line, 1/8 npt, ran that to the shock tower and run the sensor there. the reason you dont need the stock sender is because all it does is trigger the dummy light. if the sensor isnt there the light will never come on. Done and Done

Why? So you can throw a rod? The OE pressure sender is just a switch, it trips at 8psi. By that time unless the car is idling you've already skinned the metal off every bearing in the bottom end. Remove it. You won't have a light come on if that's your concern.

the dummy light is good for when youve just dropped in a built motor and before you fire it up you want to make sure you build oil pressure, but beyond that its useless. my motor blew before the oil light even came on.
invest in a good aftermarket guage (full sweep electrical is nice) and ditch the oem piece
