More 300ZX E-brake Woes

Ok I got a new handle installed from a 93 240sx since my stock one was so rusted there was no way to get the e-brake hooked up. So I put the new one in (same as stock) and the 300zx e-brake cables are too long. I've never heard of the 300zx e-brake lines to be too long on any 240 swap so this completely confuses me. Also the e-brake is adjusted all the way down. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

O it's a 91 240sx with 90 300zx all around brake setup. and 300zx drum e-brake. That should clear that up.

original mounting points are different and 2+2 cables are a bit longer. Both work, but you need to work some things out.

For the 2+2 cables you need a secondary bracket to mount them a little further back. If you mount them in the stock location as the s13 cables they have to much slack.

For the 2 seater cables you need to reroute them through the subframe and have a bracket made as well.

Ah ok. Yea I used the stock mounting holes for the cables that's probably why there is so much slack. I routed then through the sub frame though like I assumed they were supposed to be. The bracket from the handle is fine just too much slack in the actual brake lines. There is no bracket stock so any pics anyone has of their setup I can compare too? I just bolted them up where the 240sx stock lines were. So if I mount the cable mounts farther back myself then they should have enough tension? Like can I just bolt the cables back a little farther with screws like stock or does a special bracket need to be fabricated? Thanks in advance for all your help.

I suggest contacting a guy on here under the name "VESPAMAN"

I bought my bracket from him. Maybe he has some more.

That's all you need.

My situation was 100% the same as yours.

I'm sure many have just drilled a hole further back and used self tapping screws or whatever. I happen to use a simple diagram that Crimson Rocket had posted a while back for my bracket. Search for it, I'm sure you'll find it.

I tried looking for CrimsonRocket's Diagram but no luck. I guess I'll just see if I can drill them back a bit.

I've heard multiple people say the r33gts e-brake cables fit perfectly. You can get them for $105.

That bracket listed in the link is mine. pretty cool to actually see it getting propogated out. lots of people need it.

i have it traced on a piece of paper and can make copies if anyone needs it. it's for a S13, i have R33 brakes. just shoot me a PM or email and i can get it sent out.

but you should be able to just print out that diagram and resize it until the printer makes it the size listed on the diagram. done and done.

^I'd like a copy of that. I'm about to do my z32 swap either this weekend or the following week.

I'm trying to understand the trace tho. So the two slots in the top left and right are holes? and the four dots in the bottom are studs? or holes?

There are at LEAST 2 different brackets mentioned in the link.

One is a drawing
One is a real bracket.

I didn't use either of them.

No, as mentioned in this thread already. R33 cables go with the S14.

Z32 cables (2 seater or 2+2) work with the S13.

No. R33 cables are a direct fit for S14s. Only R33s. The Z32s will work in both 2seat and 2+2 setups with S13s, but brackets are required per cable. TT cables have a larger end and won't fit with the S13 or S14 handle.

How much was VespaMan's bracket? $50 for the other one is quite high for something I could make myself. If VespaMan's is cost friendly then it'd save me a bit of time.

It was not $50.

You would have to ask him about it.
I don't like to discuss prices that I pay for things.

His are very nice and I 100% suggest them
