sr have surging noise
I just recently noticed that my sr with 3" downpipe and exhuast have surging noise. I heard it by just revving the engine from the throttle on the engine and heard the surging coming from the intake filter. Let me know how i can adjust it to not having this. This is with the new HKS bov recirculated (one without the adjusting screw) Can i do something with my boost controller? Any advice thanks

So wat is that suppose to mean? I mean my bov still release pressure though, even though i recirculated it. I still hear the blowoff but then i also hear the surging after the blowoff. How can u adjusted so i don't get the surging no more. Also i have the new hks bov that doesn't have the adjustable screw

Check all of your vacuum lines.
Check your bov to see if it's opening, sounds could be deceiving. (Have someone else spot the bov for you while you give throttle) Do you have a stock actuator or the aftermarket HKS actuator? Are you sure your boost controller is functioning correctly? How many pounds of boost are you running? |

I could hear the blowoff and then a second later i near the surge from the compressor. I have a stock actuator and yes the boost controller works. I try it to see if it surge with the boost controller turn off and it still doing the same thing. I am run on low setting arond 8lbs and high setting around 13

when i had an s15 turbo my setup did the exact same thing.
new version hks bov, no vac leaks, everything hooked up properly. its just what it does. no big deal. also i found from experiance the bov will make the turbo surge at rev no load no gear (idle), and at high load high gear low rpm. (4/5th gear, 2500rpm, uphill) - the bov doesnt even open in this situation. |

the hks ssqv opens up at a minimum of 5psi, it won't open under the 5psi. at 5psi it opens a smaller port than over 5psi it will open up all the way. i get a little surge when i boost under 5psi, just don't get off the throttle right away after the 5psi if you don't want surge.
