I am the luckiest guy alive.
I pretty much got everything purchased for the SR swap except the electric fans, battery, and air filter. So my account was pretty tapped out (except for the $1000 in emergency money). So I was all down in the dumps, a bit worried about bills, and wondering how to get my account back on par. Well low and behold what comes in the mail today... check for overcharged account from school, $977 worth of overcharge (makes you wonder huh?). Anyways help me spend my money! Fan, battery, and filter should only be about $200 all together. Mods so far all relate to the engine so far. It's a bit early for the roll cage. I was thinking guages, turbo timer, XS Dual stage BC (I want high/low), seats, roll cage, tail lights, hood, Silvia front end or other aero (I have a FB).
What do you all think?

Well I don't have that much money dude. Besides I don't really like GP sports.
Limit the stuff to between $600-700 please.

alright
do this keep stock body (body kits only end up broken anyways) quality gauges, boost controller, s-afc your engine will run well and you can monitor it safely |

Go w/ the Koyo Radiator and dual fans. you won't regret it. I skimped and now I have to spend more money to get what I really need

If you don't already have it, get a stock lsd, or buy an aftermarket one and get it installed after the swap is COMPLETE (and everything is running fine) if there is any emergency money left over.
If you have an LSD or don't want one, I would go with what nrcooled said.

I'd spend as little as I could. With you doing your SR swap, you may need a little buffer $$$ just in case something goes not-as-it-was-meant-to-be. Don't drain your account just yet. If you NEED something, get it, but don't try to spend all of that money yet. You may regret it if you do. Just my $.02

Well I have a few bills to pay off but it ends up to have a spare 500-700 sitting around for the car. Plus the emergency money in savings, plus 200 in checking (i play it safe).
I have an ATS Metal diff that I need to get installed. Here's so far what I was thinking (not saying I'll do it, but ideas): Cobra "new" clubman seats 180SX guage cluster Guages Boost Controller Shift Light (low key one) Start saving for rims, brakes, suspension, and hubs

save it for now. get the swap done then see how much of it you havent dipped into. although the guages are a good idea also. but make sure you get everything together and running right before you spend that extra cash. better to mod it a month after you get it running than not have the loot to get it running

yeah I agree on saving it till later. Plus that way you will know the engine runs ok before you do stuff. i have read posts from some guys that put boost controllers and other stuff in with their swaps and when they have problems they don't know if its their aftermarket stuff or what.
Of course, you COULD put that money towards next semester's tuition.... those student loans get awfully hard to pay off! I don't know if that applies to you, but it does to me... stupid college... |

Don't tap yourself out.
that's by FAR the best advice I can give. when all is done and the car is running well, THEN choose what you'll do next, but til then, I'd just go with some decent gauges. |
