Exhaust Manifold gasket

Hey guys , im changing my ex. manifold gasket on my sr soon because its blown, what else should i do when i pull the manifold off? anybody try porting the manifold like the DSM guys do? or should i just clean it up. Thanks.

Go for it. Get some grinding wheels, an air grinder and go to town. Personally, though, I think it's going to be a lot of work for about 3 hp. But I could be wrong. I was too tired to bother. I just hurried up and put everything back together.

If you REALLY want to do it right, send it off to get ported and then Swain coated.

Hey Jeff- my friend did that on his DSM when he put the 16g on it, he said it wasnt very hard... I, like uiuc240, was in too much of a hurry when I was trying to get the ol' piecer back together to worry about it.

You might wanna check the turbo inlet gasket while you have it out. Seems they have a tendency to tear.
