s13 ticking kind of noise only when I accelerate? single cam s13

on idle i hear nothing, but when I accelerate I can hear like a ticking noise...could my valves need the be adjusted? like is it valve tick possibly? my check engine light is also on...ill have to run the codes and see what that is too..

yeah. it can be the hydraulic lifteds that are seized or they need to be bled

well now when i think about it, it kinda sounds like knocking, like when you accelerate more itll knock faster, but i know its not rod knock
