wastegate bar?
ok... i just found out the wastegate that i had gotten was a .3 bar.... that means 4.5 psi correct??
and if i dont have a manual boost controller then i will only be pushing 4.5 psi... but if i did can i push more? or will i have to change the spring? |

Yeah, you will be set at 4.35psi with a .3 bar spring (14.5 *.3 = 4.35). If you want to push more boost, you can pick up a boost controller (manuel ones for like $60.00), or just buy another spring with a higher boost rating. I would suggest buying another spring because it's cheaper and will prevent boost spikes a lot better than boost controllers (at least the manuel ones).

YOU CAN ONLY INCREAE BOOST TO A POINT. THE SPRING WILL START CAUSING BOOST SPIKES CUZ OF ITS LOW SETTING TO BEGIN WITH. BETTER OFF GETTING A HIGER RATED SPRING. IF YOU WANNA GO OVER 10 PSI GET A STIFFER SPRING.

I've run 15psi on my .3bar Tial wastegate spring no problem for a long time. I don't see how it matters...since the boost controller applies boost pressure to the top of the wastegate to assist its closing. I mean, it isn't like the spring has to do any additional work...the boost on top of the wastegate does.
