s13 Coolant leaking

So i've checked most if not all threads talking about over heating and coolant leaking, but none of them talk about whats wrong with mine

so my rads not cracked and it still has coolant and there's still a leak. When i let my engine cool down and i check the rad it seems full
people said its my head gasket or my water pump
none of my hoses are leaking or have holes so im guessing its either the hg or the water pump
it looks like the leak it coming above the alternator so yeah im not sure.

LMK on ur suggestions or anythinggg

Could be heater hoses? I JUST had the same problem. One of the heater hoses under the intake manifold had a littttle crack.

there are quite a bit of heater hoses and coolant lines that are directly under the intake mani... and i haven't had any coolant leaks, but i have a boost leak from something else now haha.

and i have a bunch of silicone hoses that i just used to replace all of them since i was already under the mani

I dont have a camera rite now but i see most of the coolant drops from where the alternator bolts on so it should be above the alternator

i recently thought I had a coolant leak, tore everything apart, even swapped out the radiator trying to find it. Turned out my thermostat was stuck closed which was causing the coolant to boil over into the overflow and then gush out the overflow.

Swapped out the thermostat, bam, no more issues... Also, I had some generic thermostat before, I swapped it out for oem, temps went down 5-10 degrees!

check the termo housing cause its right next to alt. your last check would be head gasket cause its more work to get to do all the easy checks first

hoses check hoses after a good drive if any hoses are cracked youll see the leak due to the fact that your coolant system has been perssurized

if it was head gasket would white smoke come out the tail pipe??? are you shooting white somke??

buddy, get a cooling system pressure tester.

pressurize your cooling system when the car is COLD.

Look for leaks.

Feel under the middle of your water pump there will be a breather. If it's leaking from there time to order a new one. Change your thermostat at the same time while you have the system empty of fluid, burp that biach and you should be monies. Sounds like your thermostat is stuck though. Those would be the first things i'd look at.

^^^ i have the same problem. started yesterday. this is the second time but the first time was a bypass line for sure. this time i don't see any cracks in the lines so im going to check the thermo then the gasket to the water pump. is it possible the pump went out too?

also on a side note, since coolant has spilled on to the alternator, it going to become sticky (yuck), it going to start to whine, and go out earlier

Well my water pump seems to be leaking under it and where the thermostat is.
So does this mean i have to change out both?

If its behind the alt bracket its the thermostat housing. Check the lower weep hole on the water pump.

Or, just do what your supposed to and get a pressure tester, pump it to 19lbs and watch where the water squirts out from like a pipe leak.

Does vato-zone not have such an item? I'd change both personally. I don't know the condition of your engine but like I said if you are replacing one do the other and save that time. Sounds like your water pump is doneski's IMO if she is leaking from the bottom. I had a similar situation it was the water pump but I also changed out the thermo just for good measure. Pics would be bueno so we can give you a more accurate guess-timate.
