ok.......hello everybody...YES!!! i just got my s14 Friday...yes!! i'm soo thrilled well only a lil bit...

well let me get to the question. Ok, I've did searches and all that good stuff for this topic but i didnt find any that was close to mines..... let me give you guys the problem..when i let the car idle for like 20 mins .....then i rev the engine... there would be a cloud of WHITE SMOKE that would come out but not much......then wen i would drive it none of the white smoke would come out at all even when i'm in each gear....SO WHAT IS THAT? ......

the car itself is a 95, base model, with 144k on the car, i changed the oil saturday and the oil did not feel milky nor did it have any white spots in it, I did check the coolent resvior and i do not see bubbles.........so CAN ANYBODY HELP ME OUT?.....

Take a wiff of it...if it just smells like bad exaust, then you could just have a bad tank of gas. If that's the case, make sure to fill up w/91 octance (premium fuel only in our cars!) and dump some octanebooster(ie:fuel injector cleaner) in with the gas. I had the same thing shortly after I bought my car...didn't ever see the label on my fuel door saying premium only and started getting a bit of carbon build-up from the crappy gas.

...oops...i forgot to add this also, my whole exhaust system is rusted bad but it doesnt have holes or anything, and i dont kno if it has a leak....

and when i was talking about the "being in every gear and it wouldnt happen"sentence.........i was just trying to prove that it only smoke at idle........and I was wondering y it would only do it at idle................but wen i let it idle for 20 mins....then rev it ....the white smoke would come out.....then after that ....there wouldnt be anymore smoke unlesss i let it idle for 10-20 mins more......so its like i have to wait until it builds up or something for the smoke to come out......

SO WHATS THAT??.................

WTF....OYEA... MY DAD DID FILL THE GAS TANK UP WIT PLUS.....AFTER WE BOUGHT IT....AND I THINK THE PLACE WE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM DID USE CHEAP GAS CUZ IT WAS A CHEAP PLACE......

but i did kno that 240's are high octane recommended but i didnt want 2 tell my dad anything......anyways he did help me get the car....

SO...........ON THE WAY TO AUTOZONE I GO TO GET OCTANE BOOSTER....!!! SO DO U KNOW ANY GOOD BRANDS OR ANYTHING YOU RECOMMEND??

I wouldn't suggest you guys to boost up your octane on you gasoline. I heard it can fired your injectors, due to the fact that 240s are only dohc or sohc. The also only have 280cc injectors, correct me if im wrong, because the sr has 370cc injectors and i still wouldn't recommand it on the SR.

From what i understand if you already putting in 91+ octane and you go ahead and add the octane booster, it would melt you injectors. Correct me guys if im wrong

I'm not positivly saying that you're wrong, but I've been told by SEVERAL people to use injector cleaner. I've been using 0-60 by prestone, but I was told last night to try Lucus.

octane booster and injector cleaner are 2 totally different things

True, but many products (uncluding Prestone 0-60) claim to do both.
