1500 Idle ecu related?

I installed another ecu and harness into my s13 ka, and before i swapped the ecu and harness the car idled at like 600-700. after the swap i lost slot of power in the high end and i have a 1500rpm idle. could the ecu be causing this or should i look into other options. i also have a cel i didnt have before. any posative input would be great

I had a high idle, around 1600 rpm.

Turned out to be a bad TPS. (throttle position sensor)

May not be what's going on in your case. But if you have a spare like I did you could just throw it on and see what happens.

No idea on the CEL thing, I've never had to mess with that on my car.

I think the FSM outlines a test for the TPS where you use an ohmmeter or voltmeter or something like that. Test if it's reading right.

In any case. Could be worth looking into.

Its the mechanical warm up.... fast idle thing that sticks out... It happened to my friends car... Just look for fast idle in the manual. Its a piece of wax that coolant goes throgh in the TB so that when the wax melts, the idle doesn't push the throttle open. Is your throttle touching the stopper on your intake manifold.?
