Estimate Price on '91 240?

Is $4,000 a good deal for a '91 Hatchback 240SX.
How much is a good price? There are no pics at the moment, but will update as soon as I get pictures in.

Here are some specs:

91 Nissan 240sx Hatchback
5speed Manual
KA24de Dohc motor with 99k miles
Manual Window, no Cruise, no powerdoor locks
Engine runs strong and no leaks present.
New P/S hose, window rollup regulators
color is Dark Purple Metalic with black interior
All around Vspeed kit
17" Rota D2 with -25 offset

I got mine for $600 haha, sometimes you get lucky.

it's not too much if it's a nice car. If it's a typical 240, too much. under 100k is pretty low miles nowadays. None of that "99k on motor, 225k on body" crap.

These being very very conservative prices you now have $5000

$4000 is a good deal, maybe talk him down a bit.

If its really as clean as it looks and has been maintained, I'd have no problem paying $3500 for that car.

to the OP. no 4k is not a good price. what you have to realize is that if the car looks like that, the previous owner knew what he had.....and thus more than likely beat on it. i would have been happier if is was bone stock. people sell their 240s for that much to fanboys with no prior experience. at least your doing research. personally for that car i would not pay over 3k.

however why dont you just find a stock 240, and just slowly learn how to work on your car and modify it from the ground up with what you want rather than having to settle for what the previous owner "made". (ew rotas) thats the best option i think

Stock R32 GTR's go for about 10k in good condition. So according to your logic stated up there ^, you wouldn't pay more than 1k for an '91 GTR with less than 100k miles?

ON TOPIC: 4k is a little too much considering, which has already been said, the previous owner knows what 240's are popular for. Which probably means he's raced and/or drifted the car. The reason for the kit and paint could even possibly due to an accident the car has previously been in. Try getting a CARFAX before you go any further in the buying process.

On a side note I do know what I'm talking about, I flip 240s for a living, although I wouldnt buy a car thats in the very top of the price bracket anyway. I do know, however, that here in TX at least, that car would be sold at 4K in less than a day.

Maybe TX is just full of fanbois? who knows...

hmm. well i guess its just because my state is not oil rich. up in cali 240s are not worth anywhere near that much(thats not to say people dont try) and how do you even make profit if you "flip 240s" when you buy them for such a high price hmmmm??

Hey if it is the 240 you have your heart set on then go for it. But it is a car and the price is always negotiable so don't walk up to the guy with 4k and hand it over. But it def looks clean. Does he have any service records and how many owners. This guy might have had it for 6 months bought it cheap off somebody that was clueless, put paint and wheels on it from a hook up and is just trying to make a fast buck. But whatever you choose make sure you are satisfied. Good luck

I'm not saying I would buy that car to flip. Haha, I only buy beat ones lol.

I would never even consider buying that car to make a profit haha, its already cleaned up and taken care of (from what pictures can tell us... which is next to nothing haha). And like I said earlier its at the very top of the price bracket for cars like that down here, so even if I did buy it, there's a next to nothing chance of me being able to sell it for anything more than that lol.

Anyways, since I'm assuming the car is in cali, carfax it, give it the once over, and pay what these cali dudes are telling you to, I'd put money on the fact that Zenki.life is right on this one.

in the east coast, if you would have bought that from a non-car enthusiasts, or an old person, it would be less than $1000.

but it's in cali, and the drift tax is high as hell, so expect to pay over $2000.

Just cause 240 people are broke doesn't mean that these cars aren't worth anything. It may be an old car, but a nice car is a nice car. Nice cars are worth money.
