![]() I have searched every nissan board I can find but cant find anybody who has a direct comparison between these two turbos on the same motor. (Ie, Sr with the same cams, same Intake Manifold, Same HG, just switching the turbos). I'm running a TS 3071R now, but would not mind slightly better topend, and I'm in the process of building a spare block for 500whp.. From what I've been told, a 3076R will spool at almost the exact same as a 3071R if both are Twin-Scroll with the only difference being more topend horsepower with the 3076R. Does anybody have any direct comparisons?

There must be somebody who has. If one does not surface, I will have a direct comparison within a few months. I just wanted to see some proof before I took the dive and got a new turbo when my TS 3071R only has 3000 miles or so. The main worry I have is losing spool time. I spool around mid 4's right now, and would in no way want later spool time. Also, the TS is not all hype. It's the best thing since sliced bread, but it does make a noticeble differnce in the way the car drives and reacts. Transient response is terrific, and the area under the curve is great as well. TS setups have great midrange as well. I made 425whp only running to 7200 with S4's, Greddy Intake Manifold, Enthalpy Rom tune and 19PSI on 93 Pump Gas.

GT3071R vs. GT3076R:
71 is good for roughly 470WHP and will perform better at higher boosts(~21+ PSI). 76 is good for roughly 520WHP and will perform better at lower boosts. This is about all you need to know, spool differences will be in the range of 200~400 RPM different if I had to guess given same style exhaust housings and A/Rs. |
