how easy **** happens...

well ****... never thought would happen to me:

was going to work today, stoped by the office to pay rent, so, i start backing out and BAM sh!t flying everywhere! got hit by a F-150 (same model as 4 years ago accident). He was just hauling ass through parking lot while speed limit is 5 mph here in apartments. so obvisously i get out of the car, i still speachless, my roomate is same as me. So guy is starting being an ass and saying its my fault! now His rear bumper Plowed through my rear bumper dislocated the trunk broke all the lights - now the car is ****ed and looks like ****. Luckly, no frame damage - but thats where luck stops, since i dont have insuarance, i cant claim **** and now im stuck with my beaten up baby.... All the guy in the truck got is a scratch on back fender and slightly twisted bumper.

just had to let it out. With my luck when it rains it pours, i hate those F150s!!!

if anyone can help me find the parts i need let me know, ill try to put a pic up tommorow morning.

you don't have insurance? WTF is that? I'm sorry to hear about your predicament, but I have no pity. Insurance is there for a reason, and it's turkeys like you who choose to skirt the law and not carry it that fawk over people like me who do. If I ever got hit by someone who didn't have insurance, I'd probably call one of my Italian friends and have the guy/girl worked over. Seriously.

not rich. i just consider insurance a MANDATORY part of car ownership.

i'm also 24, and my insurance is about $60 a month for full coverage. you should shop around though, i bet you can find a better price than that. $720 every six months is pretty high.

man i shop for it everyday. i'm 20, no tickets but insuarance companies put everyone (guys) under 21 in high risk.

if this would have happened 3 days ago, when i still had insuarance this wont be as bad.

uhh dude, i've been in mad trouble with tickets and all. i'm 18 (and i finally have a semi-clean record now that i'm an adult and my driving record got an overhaul) but i only pay $130 a month approx and that for two cars. a 92 240sx coupe and a 96 200sx
u need to shop around. try progressive. any ins. is better than non. even if u dont have collision. but i reccomend full ins. i've been on both ends of the spectrum myself

even if he had insurance, woudlnt do him a spec of good if its only liability.

if he couldnt afford it then he couldnt afford it. Insurance is VERy expensive. I don't really like when people come online and say "oh its so cheap, i pay jack **** and blahb blah i got 6 cars"

whatever you know? its like people that pay high insurance are too stupid or something to pay for cheaper insurance or that they like to pay higher prices right?

gimme a break. Guy got hit, and you give him grief about not having cheap insurance.

BTW, for you people in california, there is cheap insurance avaliable for...*cough* problem drivers. You have to have a few points on you record i think but you can basically get insurance for around 100 bucks a month (liability of course) You can also insure a 2nd car on the program for the cheapest rate possible. I don't think you can get full coverage on this program though, ask your insurance rep.

here is the plans website. just ask your rep about it

Well, since we're already off topic. . .

If you drive, have a license and be insured. Otherwise bus it, bike it, whatever. Even out here in bum **** Nevada I could get by without a car if I needed to. YOU are one of the reasons our insurance is so expensive (btw, I do pay $150/month). Your description of the damage doesn't rule to favorably. . .

Bah, sorry, don't want this to be a flame fest.

Since it's a moderately aged car, you can probably get those parts from a junkyard or eBay. eBay is great for miscellaneous crap like sunroofs and window regulators, should work for fender and ass parts

i dont know man i was kinda under effect since it happened so quick. you cant file a claim unless you have a report, if we called thew cops i would be ****ed for 400$ no ins. ticket. No report- no claim. the whole repair without the paint should be less then what would cost lawyer etc.

now i just need to find the parts.

i found lights for around 75 bucks but cant find a bumper ob ebay. unless i get a "half-ass fiber glass no-name body kit bull**** piece". on-line shops are expensive, i think one i found was 170$ for rear bumper cover and 60$ for rear bumper absorber.

ok this is a little office topic.. but i personally don't see how progressive is cheap at all.. base on the quote you have, it is mad cheap already. i was quote 5k for 6 months when i have my quote there. that is insane if you ask me. 1 thing for sure tho, you need to shop around.

You remind me of one of my high school buds. He didn't have the cashflow for a few months, so he drove without insurance. He didn't get into any accidents, but the cops caught him 3 times, yes, 3 times!!! At $650 per ticket.

BTW, I pay $220 per month, and thats on a yearly plan.

Insurance is mandatory. If you have the money to mod your car you have the money for insurance.

Dude, if you don't have insurance, then DON'T ****ING DRIVE. It's ****ing stupid for you to do that. Flame me all you want, but **** man... you deserve to be ragged on for that one. Sux about your car and ****, but it's your own damn fault. Just be thankful you don't have a house that the guy sued for and won.

i was backing out and he was hauling ass trough the gate and turned right, i guess he thought he could pass me since i was backing out very slowly (making sure i dont hit anyone ), if he was going 5 mph like hes supposed to inside apartments, there wouldnt be an accident. either way he was supposed to stop and look at the gates but no he had to haul ass. he was gonig at least 30, thats why my whole rear is ****ed to pieces now.

In other words, you backed into him while he was speeding 25 miles per hour over the limit. While I don't condone that by any means, I don't think it was entirely his fault. Technically, at least where I am, the law says you're supposed to back into your driveway, and if you get into an accident while backing out, you're at fault.

I'm not trying to be an asshole by any means, but seriously, I think you (understandably) have a bit of a distorted view about what happened because your car is damaged and you're not in a good position right now.

Hmm, the damage doesn't look all that bad. You'll need a new bumper cover and a few lights, but I think that's about it. Did you look to see why the trunk is offset? You might be able to fix it by loosening the screws and just realigning it.
