Suede vs Leather Steering wheels - Personal feedback please

Im about to purchase a new steering wheel and would like to know how you guys feel about suede vs. leather steering wheels. I have my eye on a nardi deep corn in suede. The car its going in is not my daily driver but does get driven as often as possible after work. Does the suede end up getting ruined at a much faster rate than regular leather. My momo steering wheel lasted years with regular leather.

Suede gets "crushed", and then looks like shit.

Leather is easier to maintain.

Suede is said to provide better grip.

I have never had issue with my hand sliding too much on an aftermarket leather wheel.

It's down to personal choice.

suede wheels are mainly made to be used on race cars with the drivers wearing driving gloves. oils in the hands will make the suede flat/ roughed up leather looking.

unless you plan to wear gloves every time you drive then don't get a suede steering wheel.

they wear pretty quickly if you drive without gloves and look like utter crap when they are worn.

nice topic, been debating this in my head, my Subaru has a suede Sparco wheel n it looks good but its not too old yet although it shows signs of wear sooner than any leather wheel. I agree with leather for a DD suede for track as well

Not that a whole lot of people are daily driving a GT3, but it's whatever. I'd say get the suede because it's hella pimp, and then get some driving gloves (leather ones without knuckles like your grandfather used to wear) and no one will be able to approach your baller status! lol.

I just bought a s15 steering wheel that is leather wrapped and coming from a regular s14 oem wheel, its already sticky enough. I like the look of leather over suede too.

My suede wheel has 3k miles on it. Looks like shit, and I'm a picky sumbish about my car staying spotless. My old leather Momo had over 80k miles when I sold it, still looked new.

Leather for certain.

Also, suede grabs on to dirt quick. So if your working on your car, got dirty hands and you had to turn the wheel, you better not forget to use something before you touch it.

The only good looking suede left

wow i thought that was leather at first, lol.. i would go with leather on anything, suede just gets to dirty to easy, and is to hard to keep clean, no matter the quality. leather to me looks better and lasts much longer, and you always restore it to certain degree.

Leather 100%.

I had one suede steering wheel and sold it with the quickness.

Now, have two Nardi deep corns in leather.

Never looked back.

Yeah, but its basically the same thing.

BustedS13-Cars do come factory with "Suede". Lots of BMW's, including almost all of the ZHP packages, have Alacantra steering wheels and other various trim panels.

I have a suede Sparco in my S14. The suede has long worn off. Its pretty much shitty leather now.

leather is easier to maintain, looks much nicer

suede i feel and MehSilvia agrees with me here if he chimes in, that suede shoudl only be used in places were not much contact will happen to it... example a head liner...

i say leather

mind you...if u park in the sun often, suede can fade into an ugly blarple look ( looks black from one angle and purple from different angle)

ive had my nardi in my track car sitting for over 8 months in the sun...no fade and still looks new
