Angry Slide into a curb, nice

So it was raining pretty heavily last night andd... yeah my tire s were bald and the brakes locked up into a down hill turn...
curb at about 10 mph

curbed the **** outtof my rims and it appears that it knockd the slignment off
and the camber got knocked back, and also the caster is about an inch farther in towards back than usual

so i might have a bent control arm

is it possible i bent my apexi coulover too?

anyone got a s14 front driver side control arm for sale/ or can find one, our junkyards have absolutely nothing

pdm-racing.com sells new ones for like 50 bucks each. you could even upgrade to whiteline poly bushings for some extra cash.

anyway yes there is a chance that it damaged your coilover, which sucks.

I can't see your coilover being hurt. They're on pivots for all side to side motion.

In a sense though what you did was simular to people drifiting.

People that attempt to drift have full knowlege of the posibilites of crashing but they do it anyway.

You knew that you had bald tires but still took the chance of driving on them knowing fully that it was unsafe and there was a posibility they would lose traction at the wrong time even though unintentional.

But then I don't know your financial situation and you may have not had the funds to replace your tires. But regardless though now you have to pay for more then just tires but now a control arm.

Something that I learned in the first 2 weeks of having my 240, when it's wet, either drive another car, or drive SLOW. Especially if you have bald tires. Now I would have some samipathy for you, but, I can't seeing as how you knew you had bad tires.

i had that same problem. i swerved while trying to avoid being hit by someone who did not know how to switch lanes. well anyways i happened to have the same problem with my alignment and camber. after i got the arms replaced and everything, i still find myself with the same problem another thing is wenever i would drive over uneven roads my tires tend to wiggle. i don't know what the problem is, but one of my friend tell me that i have blown shocks. could that be the problem? if so how can you tell?

yeah when I first got my car it had some straight up bald tires on the back and slightly fresher on the front. needed to pass inspection so I put the new bfg's on the front and switched the better stock ones to the rear (after buring the bald ones off) and it was pretty nice till I was following my father up to pittsburgh in his AWD van and he hit a puddle on the interstate with slowing in a heavy downpour and I hit it, hydro planed, and spun out at 70mph.
That was really, really, really scary. I bought new tires.

I'm going to the junkyard which has S14's this weekend and could buy your parts and mail it to you but the PDM thing might be better.

Black ice/rain sucks. Good luck.

i didn't wanna start another thread since my problem is so similar.

so a curb recently attacked my car and my steering was whack. when i took my hands off of the steering whee, it turned to the left about 35 degrees. (mind you, the car went fairly straight with the wheel turned like that) i figured out that i bent my front right tie rod. no biggie, i replaced that. the steering wheel still pulled to the left. upon further, further inspection, i noticed that the camber was way off on the right front side and there was noticeable toe on both front tires, depending on where the wheel was turned.

did i bend my strut? what else could i have damaged?

I'm also a member of the 'drifting into the crub club', ended up joining last night. I'm dead broke, but in about 3 weeks I'll have to take it in for an allignment, hopefully that'll solve all my problems. Just hoping it's not something like a bent frame or anything else damaged

The trick to driving the 240sx in the rain/snow/mud is to not use the brakes.

Uhhh.... or to know how to drive. Let's put that at the top of the list: Car control.

Oh what's that? Do you hear of any *real* "drifters" crashing their cars because of something this stupid? NO! Drifting rocks! We are better drivers because of supreme car control knowledge. Anyone think drifting is still useless? Ahh... bookmarking this thread...
