I was trying to find an engine that would give me more power than my stock one. I know the SR20DET would work, but I was wondering if there was anything more powerfull. I saw on one guys site that he was putting a RB26DETT (Skyline engine) in his car. I was wondering if this work work for mine. I have heard yes and no, and was trying to get someones ideas or opinions, or maybe some more info on this. Also if anyone has any ideas as to what engine I could use in my car, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Oh yeah btw, I have a 91 S13. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> |

Anything can work with enough money. Worthwhile? Not IMHO. You can fit a RB20DET in there without to much difficulty. Although with the aftermarket support of the SR engine I would just stick with that.

RB26 is too heavy... it will mount up... but do you know why the Skyline is so heavy? they re-enforced the body to support the power and weight of the engine. this this way.. u will lose your rear end easily if the weight is too heavy in the front... like when you go over a hump

Go with the SR20DET since it is about 60lbs lighter than the KA so you car will be closer to 50/50 weight ratio. Move the battery to the back and Im sure you would have it.

To be honest, having the engine was a cool thought. I just want to be able to have the most ability to gain the most performance out of the car. I just figured that if you start with an engine that has that much HP, then going up from there is just that much easier. So for the most HP The SR20DET is the best choice?
