Price is nice. Springs are very high quality with an average spring rate and a average drop that wont sag your rear end. I was going to get the GR-2 awhile ago because I dont like AGX all that much but this was just for a temp solution until I got coilovers. I was actually going to get the same setup your talking about. Dont expect it to handle like mad but you will notice TONS of improvement over stock. Perfect for street and some track

Keep in mind that GR-2 is STOCK REPLACEMENT. It is NOT a performance shock of any sort. It will improve handling, however, because it will be new!

as a stock replacement, they're not meant for lowering, so they will blow sooner. even agx's warn against lowering, but they say a drop less than 2" should be okay

My friend put GR-2's with skunk2 coils on his civic and the shocks were done in less then 5 months. That was with a drop of 2" though. So be careful. If I was you I would get Tokico Blues. I had them on my crx and had it dropped 2.5" and never had a problem during the 9 months I used em. They werent that much more expensive over the GR-2's either.

Well damn im wrong about that.

However, I do know another source for 240sx short stoke design struts. They are Motivational Engineering and cost $200 + Cores. Here is a link and a pic.

well seeing as how i have both of them already i wont be getting the blues...i just havent driven my car yet..its still on jacks...(im doin a rebuild) i do know the GR-2s are jus OEM replacements.

the teins only drop like 1.5" anyway so the GR-2s should be ok right??

driftaholic: u dont mean blow literally do u?? u mean jus wear out right?

I just put on tein S tech and kyb agx, the s tech's are a perfect spring for me, just the drop I was looking for, pretty stiff for WV roads though.
can't comment on the agx/tein's individually cause I put em in at the same time.

it would work for a little while, but i wouldn't trust it to hold up for very long. the agx's are a lot tougher, and kyb STILL doesn't recommend that you use them for lowering.

I know a guy that autox with Eibach pro-kit and one of those stock replacement struts. I think those struts lasted about one year.

yeah one year, and prokit doesn't lower as much as s.techs

save up and get agx's or koni yellows or something along those lines. you won't regret it (unless you want to go full coilovers that is )
