KA pignose with ka24de injectors not getting signal

hey so my friend has a pignose s13 and he put in a 95 ka24de. it took him almost three years to get it running and we finally got it to run (had a bad dizzy). ever since we got it running it will only stay running for about 10 seconds then dies immediately just like you were to shut the ignition off. sometimes we can get it to start the next day but never right after. i have checked spark and its good. i checked to see if the injectors were getting signal and they arent. there is a positive on each pole of the injector... anybody have any ideas on what to check next?? thanks

First off, it sounds like this car is a conglomeration of fuckups. I mean really, 3 years for a KADE swap??? Something went wrong there. really there isn't much that can cause the injectors to not fire. The crank sensor in the distributor is the one that the computer uses for fuel and ignition timing, so that could be bad. It could be a wiring problem between the distributor and the computer or between the computer nad injectors as well. Or of course it could be a bad computer. From what you are telling me I would be inclined to try another computer, but I also wouldn't have to actually buy a computer to use one for testing either. Without actually looking at the car there isn't much more I can tell you.

well you are right 3 years is way too long. my friend is not very mechanical and also he didnt have access to the internet so he was throwing money at the wrong stuff. plus he was working fast food and didnt have much money. but i finally started to research a little for him and figured out that he needed the 91-93 engine harness and other s13 components. i read that you have to repin it to the pignose dash harness. i did that. i did every pin exactly how it came out of the dohc harness. it still wasnt getting spark. so i told him to test the dizzy and he procrastinated so much but finally tried another. bingo! spark and like i said fuel for only a few seconds. then no fuel but still getting spark. is there a way to test the crank or cam sensor? and how? thanks

Check if your getting fuel before the injectors.meaning pull off the fuel line feed and turn on the pump for a. 1sec.
Make sure your harness is plugged in tight into the ecu(happen to me once)..

i felt the line pressure on the feed compared to the return and it felt like it was getting pressure. but its still not getting signal signal to the injectors.

You SHOULD be using the original ECU that matches the engine, but I'm sure you CAN use any dualcam ecu. You CANNOT use the singlecam ecu though.

ok well i assume that he has the dual cam in there. but he cant use the 95 ecu cause the harness plug is different. he told me today that when he unplugs the mass air flow sensor it runs fine. any ideas on that? thanks
