QUICK question s14 ob2 engine harness question

I have a 97 s14 my engine harness is done for....

I am looking at buying another harness.

Are all 96 and up ob2 engine harnesses the same (usdm)?

Also to tell the difference between ob1 and ob2.

OBD 1 has blue ecu plug and OBD 2 has white ecu plug correct?

All S14s have a white plug. We've been over this before.

As for the harness, the 1996 harness is NOT the same as the '97-'98. You can repin and adapt it, but it's more work.

For example, the later models do not use a thermo control amplifier for the A/C, so there's no control wire from the ECU to operate it on the '97-'98, only a signal wire.

The rear O2 sensor is a 4wire, versus the 3wire unit on '95-'96 models, so you have an additional lead there which would require a matching lower harness.

Also, 1996 base models are not prewired for the variable intermittent wipers so there wouldn't be a lead in the harness for it to run that option (if you got a base model harness). All '97-'98 models are prewired for variable intermittent, even in cars with fixed intermittent control. The wiper motor plug is completely different on '97-'98s since the motor itself is different. These are part of the engine harness so that would matter as well.

I'm not recalling any other differences but there may be more.

Good reading skills.

REAR O2 sensor, not front. All front O2 sensors after late 1995 are 3wire, we know this.

ALL S14 ECU plugs are white. ALL OF THEM.
All S13 ECU plugs are blue.

You're reading wrong. If you're going to ask a question, get a correct answer, then argue about it, why ask in the first place?

The TPS, CTS, and front O2 are all different. Front O2 is 1wire on the '95s, the TPS has a lead off with a plug separate ('96-'98 are direct plug in) and the 1995 CTS is a red plug, 2pin with a wire clip, '96-'98s are a blue plug, 2pin with a snap.

You also won't have the extra plug by the F3 plug for the EVAP canister harness going to the rear of the car on a 1995 harness. It's a small white plug, maybe 8 or 10 pins.
